In "Hoteles Intur" we are renewing for you. And, after giving a new look to the Hotel Intur de Castellón, it is time to improve one of our reference urban establishments: Intur Palacio de San Martín Hotel in Madrid. The environment is constantly changing and, at Intur Hotels, we also bet on adapting to the modern times, always with the improvement of our customer service in mind. After the recent renovation of the Hotel Intur Castellón and the opening of “ConTacto", its renovated restaurant, we have decided to go a step further and take action in one of our reference urban hotel: the Hotel Intur Palacio de San Martín in Madrid. Located in the heart of the city, in Madrid of the Austrias (the old center of the city), this is one of our most emblematic establishments. Not only because of the age of the building, which dates back to 1883, but also because this building once housed the headquarters of the first US Embassy that opened in Spain. Declared National Heritage building in 2001 we have restored it to turn it into a 4-star hotel that, during all these years, has been constantly adapting to the needs of the thousands of clients that have relied on us every year to rest during their stay in the capital. As part of our policy of continuous improvement, we have begun work to comprehensively renovate our hotel this month. A project that, in addition to respecting the protected architectural elements of this historic building, will allow us to continue increasing the quality of our services. In particular, this project include the comprehensive renovation of the rooms and common areas to give them a more current style, but without losing the elegance that characterizes the essence of Intur Hotels. This project will also be the occasion to renovate the entire breakfast area and the hotel restaurant. The exterior appearance of the property will also be improved. Thus, the carpentry of the façade will be replaced to increase its thermal and acoustic insulation conditions. However, the “setting backs”, the configuration of the windows' leaves, the color, as well as the historical aspect of the building, which will recover the green tone that characterized its original aesthetics in the 19th century, will be respected. To complete the renovation, a restyling of the interior design of the interior patio has been planned, which, as a great novelty, will include one of its walls with an original vertical garden.
The premium location, only two minutes away from Callao,, the pedestrian terrace in the Plaza San Martín, the privilege of being located in a historic building declared National Heritage, and the space and comfort of its rooms are some of the benefits that will be reinforced with this great renovation, which forces us to temporarily close the doors of the hotel. We will return next March with more enthusiasm than ever to present you a space that we will have completely renovated with the aim for our customers to enjoy an even more comfortable and pleasant stay.
